Having Fun in the District
This past week, Felicia (our recent convert) went out on several
team-ups with us. One of them, Scott, is her neighbor whom we have
recently begun teaching. She has been a good example to him as she has
stopped drinking coffee. He has noticed the change in her since she
started meeting with the missionaries. Scott came to church for the
first time yesterday and has been continuing in the missionary lessons
with a curious attitude.
Felicia also came with
us to visit Richard. I don't remember if I have or have not written
about Richard yet, but he is the son of a less-active member we were
introduced to as we were with a member doing visiting teaching. We were
teaching the Plan of Salvation and when we invited him to be baptized,
he responded, "you want ME to be baptized?" It was as if we had invited
him into the coolest, most prestigious club - and in a way, we have. :)
He said he would really like to be baptized, and so we set a date to work
towards. As we were there, we were talking about jobs, because the
restaurant he was working for just shut down. Felicia suggested that he
could apply where she worked and she could put in a good word for him.
It seemed like a great idea. THEN, she mentioned that they pay for
tuition at the online university he had been attending, but he had had to stop due
to financial reasons. I couldn't believe it! Hma. Horrocks looked at me
and said, "Wow... I felt the spirit really strongly as she said that." I
could feel it too. Heavenly Father truly organizes everything in our
lives perfectly so we are in the right place at the right time, just
like Felicia was at that lesson. As long as we are living righteous
lives, he will use us as His instruments to do His work.
I don't think I need to say anymore. That entry says it all. Other than to add that our Heavenly Father loves ALL of us and wants us to be happy!
